| Dendrocopos syriacus Probably rare species for this forum. Comparing the Great Spotted Woodpecker/ Dendrocopos major/ this birds have not so intensive red colours ( more pink) and no black band joining the black nape. Relatively common bird from low lands of Bulgaria. |

Hi Emil,
very nice image of this woodpecker. The overcast light situation gives a wonderful smooth setup, which results in managing the contrasts very well.
The snow gives the last extra to this picture.
