| This birds are excellent swimmers and divers, and hunt its prey underwater, eating mostly fish as well as aquatic insects and larvae. Interestingly, this grebe is essentially flightless for near 9 months. Generally, this bird avoids flying at all, but when migrating, some of them fly over thousands kilometers. This photo was taken from a floating hideout in the quiet marshes on the Danube. Last days of April – a male attracting the female. |
