Hi, I will have to write in english, sorry, but I am looking for interesting areas around the Bayerische Wald with wildlife. We plan to take a few days there at the end of May/June and I am interested of course in making the most of any bird or animal opportunity. Is it just a huge forest or are there hides setup so one can view nature? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Neil |
Many thanks for both comments, so far having a new baby has meant no chance to drive there....but I will!!
Danke!!

Hi Neil,
I support the hint to the enclosure near to Neuschönau.
In the past, I have been several times out there.
Ok, it is not wildlife, but I think at least for bears, wolves, Lynx and european bison, you have very decent opportunities for attractive pictures - and yes, you will need time for that.
The enclosures are quite extensive, no 'classic fence' is in line of sight.

The small stream 'Kleine Ohe' is also worth a visit. I would dept that it is the most photographed creek in Germany. Follow the road to the village Waldhäuser until the parking lot and you will find it.
For birding, there is an intersting page here - although I think, some time has to be spent in order to get some really good opportunities for making pictures.
